Water Quality Monitoring

Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania is partnering with Duquesne University and Western Pennsylvania Conservancy on a comprehensive watershed-wide sampling program. The comprehensive sampling program includes:

  • Louisiana Waterthrush surveys
  • Water chemistry sampling
  • Fish surveys
  • Macroinvertebrate sampling
  • Hellbender surveys
  • Mussel surveys

A pilot sampling program was conducted in 2020 in partnership with Chatham University.

This information will be used to determine priority restoration opportunities, pollutant sources, and a more thorough understanding of the biodiversity of the watershed.
