Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling

Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania partnered with Pennsylvania Resources Council and Freeport Area Middle School to host a series of special collection events. Improper disposal of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and electronics is a common source of pollution that impacts local waterways and forest habitat.

Impact

Through the HHW Collection, E-Recycling, and a series of litter pick ups, a total of 52,657 pounds of waste was collected. Over 500 people participated in these events, which helped to protect local water quality and habitat integrity.
